  • 2,500-year-old eggs unearthed from ancient tomb in east China (2019-03-27)
  • Archaeologists in an east China county have found eggs that were stored in a pottery jar on Sunday (24 March 2019) that could be 2,500 years old. It was the fifth jar of eggs to have been found from mounded tombs in Jiangsu Province. The previous ones have been preserved at four different museums in Jiangsu. The archaeological site is a four-meter-high mound with a diameter of 40 meters. Some 48 relics, including food containers, bowls and plates, were unearthed from the site. One of the archaeologists said there were about 20 eggs in the jar that were found on Sunday.    Photo by Imaginechina
